Ballyholme Primary School is a caring school where everyone is welcomed, valued and respected. It is a happy school, where all, individually and together, play a part in developing pride in self, in school, in others, and towards developing their potential in becoming responsible future citizens.
P4/7 Reading Partnership
Our P7 pupils recently received training from Mrs Rothwell on 'how to help pupils read'. They are now being given the opportunity to use this knowledge as we have begun an exciting new reading partnership with P4 pupils. Each pupil has a reading buddy who listens to them read and models fluent reading on a weekly basis. This is proving to be very popular with P4 and P7 pupils.
Abaana
Our P7 classes have been learning about the work of Abaana and decided to help by raising money through a charity walk. Click here to find out more.

KS2 assemblies
Our P5-P7 assembly now takes place on a Monday afternoon to allow teachers more time with literacy and numeracy during the week. This may mean it is more difficult for some of you to come and see a family member involved during the year. Whenever possible we will post a video of the assembly on the website in the Primary Pages section.

Local politician sings the praises of Ballyholme Primary School
25/06/2010
Ulster Unionist North Down MLA Leslie Cree is delighted that Ballyholme Primary School has received the recognition that they deserve by being invited to sing in the Great Hall at Parliament Buildings, Stormont today (Thursday) following their success as BBC Songs of Praise Junior Choir of the Year 2010.
The UUP MLA said that their "wonderful performance was just a taster of the talent that secured their success in this year's competition".
"It gave me great pleasure to see the group perform today. Northern Ireland is really coming into its own, with successes across the sporting and arts spectrum and it is important that the contribution of those who work so hard is given due recognition.
"This win was no small challenge for Ballyholme Primary School, as they faced stiff competition from hundreds of entrants from across the UK."
"I am very proud of this local group, and commend staff on their hard work in encouraging and training a superb choir. They have clearly worked very hard and I am delighted that they have been rewarded for their commitment."
"Their determination is certainly not in question, having already made it to the final twice before. But this time they weren't leaving without a trophy!"
